Hey guys this time I wanted to talk about assasins and all the variants from the codex.
So let's see what the Callidus Assasin can do. For 145pts you get Synskin, which is a dumb downed Feel No Pain, Polymorphine, Neural Shredder, and Frag grenades. For special rules you get Fearless, Fleet, Hit and Run, Move through Cover, Stealth, and Uncanny Reflexes.
In close combat, she's got high initiative, beating most units, lots of attacks, a high hit rate, yet still she only has S4 for wounds. I'd say her role doesn't really change much from the last codex, so any tactics you have they may still work even if the C'tan phase sword is nerfed. For 145pts shes okay but we'll see the other options.
The Eversor Assasin seems really cool. For 130pts you get Synskin,, meltabombs, a neuro gauntlet(lightning claw), Frennzon, Frag grenades, and an executioner pistol. For special rules you have Furious charge as a unique rule from the other assasins. The pistol is cool, the extra D6 attacks is great, and the Lightning Claw bonus is nice. Again the tactics are the same for all other assasins.
The Culexus Assasin is more of a specialist against psykers obviously. I don't really care for this guy for 135pts.
The Vindicare Assasin is pretty cool since he is pretty much like Telion from CSM, except his shots arent rending they are AP 1. He can also pick out special characters and unique weapons out of squads. They also wound on a 2+ so picking guys out is guaranteed. However he's 145pts.
Out of all of them, I like the Eversor assasin because he is cheaper and has plenty of attacks to wipe out a wimpy squad or 2. But then again I wouldnt bother using assasins anyways but thats just me.
